Life Coach

Buddhist-Inspired Life Coaching Can Give You An Incredible Source Of Guidance And Empowerment.

Are you facing a life transition that has you second guessing? At a crossroads due to the stress of a career? Perhaps you recently moved on from a long-term relationship and struggle with who you are outside of the relationship.  Maybe you are a new parent or accepted a promotion and you are wondering how to manage all the new tasks and responsibilities.

Possibly you feel challenged with managing reactive or compulsive behaviors that are unsettling to you. Do you have trouble making intuitive decisions or feel that you’re not responding from the higher part of self? You’re an entrepreneur or boss and want to make assertive decisions and in general you simply want some relief, clarity, and sense of certainty.

Making inspired changes through your decision-making process takes courage. At the Recovery Collective with Zaw Maw, a Buddhist-inspired life coach can help foster spirituality, resilience, insight and overcome personal challenges.

Making major life changes and decisions can naturally create a lot of stress and uncertainty regardless of your age. At the Recovery Collective, we understand that change can be concerning. But we also recognize its potential to foster growth and self-improvement. With our help, you can learn how to manage your anxiety, develop a different relationship with your thoughts and emotions, learn practical solutions for navigating life changes, and live a life driven by your values.

Coaching involves more than simply problem-solving. Through curious and compassionate conversations, we can get to the underlying reasons for some of your challenges and achieve profound internal healing. Whether it’s changing motivations for negative behaviors, broadening your tolerance to distress, or questioning long-held belief patterns embedded in your identity—working with a personal life coach can be a transformative experience.

What Should I Expect From Sessions?

Initial sessions start with a short set of simple questions that explore into your values and where you are currently in life; by identifying what the most important challenges you want to overcome; you and Zaw Maw will determine if Buddhist-inspired life coaching is a good fit for you. If it is, Zaw will create a life coaching plan for you not only to overcome ongoing challengers but more importantly helping you work towards a life where your inner values are in harmony with the way things are in your world. There are three main components to each session: uncovering Buddhist core principles and learning how to apply them to your life, incorporating mindfulness mediations to gain insight into your values and things that motivate you, and practicing self-compassion to stay in tune with your innermost self.

What Does Buddhist Life Coaching Help You Achieve?

With a Buddhist Life Coach, you’ll recognize what it means to have a balanced vision of your life by facing truths with courage, presence, creativity, compassion, and composure.

Non-Attachment: This type of coaching will help you understand how it feels like to bring intentional awareness to your innermost spiritual self and the way things are in the material world. Being non-attached means seeing things as they are – everything is changing. Freedom from habitual thinking of who you feel you should be and how the world should be will help you see endless possibilities in each moment, and you can make better choices in life that allow you to be who you truly are.

Deeper meaning and purpose in your life: When you get to live your life “inside-out”, everything in your world becomes so refreshing and alive because you think in a positive tone and take actions from a place of genuine curiosity. Instead of living life as a chore of work, family, and “leisure” as advertised, you get to experience each new day as – “How is this day of events (no matter how easy or challenging it may be) going to help me to grow more to get connected with my authentic self?

Constructive and Insightful Sessions: Prepare to study and experience Buddhism. This coaching method can help create a sturdy foundation of Buddhist principles that you will implement in your life. With Buddhist Life Coaching, you’ll understand what it means to have an objective vision of your life by facing hard facts with courage, faith, creativity, compassion, and composure.

Zaw Can Teach You…

  2. How to identify and prioritize specific activities that are nourishing for the most important three aspects of your personal life – body, mind, and spirit.

How The Buddhist Approach Was Inspired By My Life Experiences

Being born and raised in Burma, Buddhism as a way of life was already chosen for me since from the beginning. Being in the background as a great resource, Buddhism took three major transitional phases in my life looking back – first, it was as a tradition that I took for granted as part of Burmese culture; second, it was as a subject of philosophy when I studied it academically from a Yale graduate professor while preparing to come to the US for college; third, it was as a practice and a way of life when I got into recovery myself, family life, and as a first-generation immigrant in a foreign country away from home. Having stated all that, this is the approach that has consistently worked for me through thick and thin in my life – with the core principles of Buddhism such as the Noble Eightfold Path, the Four Noble Truths, and the Three Characteristics of Existence, I was always reminded to look inward at every turning points in my life that not only helped me get through challenging times but also coming out stronger on the other side with more integrity. I am inspired by a sense of duty to make this approach available to whomever needs it and whomever can benefit from it.

But You May Still Have Some Questions About Working With A Life Coach…

I know this would help, but I’m not sure about the financial commitment.

Individual Coaching is an investment. What you would be investing in, is yourself. Strengthening portions that need guidance. Adding the focus of Buddhist Life Coaching as an investment doesn’t take away from something else, it will enhance holistically, every aspect of your life because of the commitment to better yourself. This type of care and advocacy permeates to improve your quality of life physically, mentally, and spiritually. There are very few things that have such a high return on investment when applied to your mind, body and daily life.

With that said, putting a price on the methods has led to contemplation of this commitment as less about financial but more about energy and intention. According to Buddhist psychology, whatever we put into the Universe through deed, thought, or speech, equal return always comes back to us. Although that is true, my life experience has shown that if it is a positive energy that I put in for the benefit of myself and others around me, the positive return is multifold. After all, financial value is one of the many expressions of energy, along with love, wisdom, and generosity that promotes the well-being of all of us.

If this type of personal development seems valuable to you, invest in yourself…You Are Worth It.

I’m trying to decide between therapy or a coach.

It is true that some are just reluctant to attend therapy but are open to meet with a coach. It’s a common misconception that Coaching is therapy in disguise. Therapists can diagnose conditions and mental illnesses and often find benefit in identifying the underlying causes and conditions. A Life Coach will primarily focus on the “How” to help you get “unstuck” and using their background disciplines (In our case Theravada Buddhist Principles & the Four Foundations of Mindfulness) to inspire you and help you to achieve what is possible.

Why if my problems become too big to address?

The answer is twofold. Often our problems lead to us feeling stuck, our perspective will tell us when we are in the level of the problem, it won’t get better. Well, that is the very reason you’re still reading! We are here to help shift your consciousness (insight/awareness) from the problem to the level of the solution. This type of empowerment coaching can transform your mindset habits and create a positive change.

Secondly there are members that attend our Coaching services and partake in therapy at The Recovery Collective. The other Specialty services that are offered can integrate with each other to better help you and your needs. If there is additional healing that therapy can provide, our practice encourages all appropriate forms of health care and wellbeing. If you have questions on what type of service might be best for you at this time in your life, all our practitioners are glad to guide you in an appropriate direction. The beauty of Buddhist Inspired Life Coaching is its ability to augment just about every form of treatment you may be receiving. Our philosophy is to find the best way to integrate services for your healing and growth…It’s kind of in our facilities name!
