Is There A Void In Your Life That No Treatment Seems Able To Fill?

Does it ever feel like no one hears or understands you? Are you tired of medical professionals who only want to treat your symptoms instead of getting to know you on a deeper level? Do you long for a solution that goes beyond the surface and addresses every area of your life?

Maybe you feel like you don’t know who you are anymore. It’s as if there’s a void inside of you that no treatment can fill, and you’ve lost all sense of purpose and direction. Perhaps you have wounded relationships with family or friends that have led you to spiral downward and feel depressed. Maybe you self-medicate or engage in substance use because nothing else—neither in the world of medicine or therapy—seems to give you any hope.

In the face of your struggles, you may ask: Is there anyone out there who will listen? Do I just have to keep trying unproductive strategies all my life, with no end in sight?

You May Be Tired Of Healthcare Providers Who Only Offer One-Sided Treatment

Deep down, perhaps you long for a sense of fulfillment that is physical, emotional, and spiritual in nature. But when you seek support, everyone is only interested in caring for only one area; doctors want to treat your body, therapists want to treat your mind, and no one wants to address your whole self. As a result, you may find yourself sliding deeper and deeper into sadness and loneliness.

If you’re tired of feeling like only a number in the world of healthcare, we would be honored to make a difference in your life. Here at Recovery Collective, we aren’t going to slap a band-aid on your struggles or give you a “quick-fix” solution. Through a combination of acupuncture and therapy, we want to help you deepen your connection to yourself, mend relationship wounds, and reclaim your internal power.

Many Of Us Struggle To Find Treatment That Addresses Every Aspect Of Our Lives

In a world of intense specialization, many people fail to receive adequate care. Most healthcare professionals have a narrow focus, leaving their patients with equally narrow solutions. The treatment they get may not be bad, but it isn’t complete, failing to incorporate their mind, body, and spirit into the healing process.

What’s more, in our fast-paced, entertainment-saturated modern world, many of us have mastered the art of distracting ourselves. We use electronics and social media to tune out and ignore what’s going on in our mind, body, and spirit. As a result, we cannot address the mental and emotional blockages that cause us to suffer. For instance, we may find ourselves ruminating on a painful experience that happened many years ago because we never made time or found the help needed to process it. In this way, we “block” ourselves from our true healing potential by scattering our energy in so many directions at once.

Our Society Has Become Disconnected From Its Roots, Leaving us Alienated And Alone

Between a narrow-minded healthcare system and an overstimulating world, it’s no wonder so many of us feel disconnected. As far as our society has come in terms of technological advancements, we have lost touch with what it means to be rooted to the self, nature, and everything that used to endow our lives with meaning.

In integrative holistic therapy, our goal is not to dispense with all the progress that our society has made. Instead, we want to integrate modern advancements in psychotherapy with the wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine. Our approach fuses the present and the past, the Eastern with the Western, and the spiritual to the scientific.

Integrative Holistic Therapy Can Help You Achieve Healing In Your Mind, Body, And Spirit

One of the basic ideas underlying traditional Chinese medicine is that we store our emotions in our blood and hold stress in various parts of our body. Working closely with the body allows us to uproot these emotions, bring them to the surface, and get to the core issues affecting our lives.

At Recovery Collective, we use acupuncture, herbal remedies, and other natural healing methods combined with therapy to address both the roots (causes) and the branches (symptoms) of your struggles. Doing so can help you connect the dots between what is happening in your mind, body, and spirit.

Our practice consists of therapist Luke DeBoy and acupuncturist Jonathan Bronson. We are excited about our approach because it is relatively new territory—there aren’t many qualified professionals who can work together in the same session and actually bring about healing. That’s the beauty of integrative therapy. We’ve performed counseling and acupuncture with many of the same clients for years and have seen improvement in their lives. Many practices promise a “mind-body-spirit” approach without actually investigating the connection between all three. We aim to address all three aspects of who you are in the same session.

What To Expect In Sessions

In counseling, you will work with both Luke and Jonathan. Depending on your individual needs, we may have therapy sessions with acupuncture woven in. Or we may perform therapy in conjunction with a more discussion-based, technique-oriented approach to Chinese medicine. This means that, while you work with Luke to discuss your mental health and behaviors, Jonathan can help you explore your needs and hurt points using the wisdom of Chinese medicine.

Our ultimate goal is to help you set up the conditions for your personal vision of recovery and healing. We want you to deepen your connection to yourself and explore your subconscious, uncovering truths that may have evaded your awareness. Sometimes, this may require looking into archetypes and themes that have a personal significance for you (e.g., perhaps they recur in your dreams). Other times, it may mean mending old relationship wounds that affect how you see the world and engage with others today.

By using therapy to address your mental health struggles and Chinese medicine to explore your mind-body-soul connection, we are confident that you can achieve a legacy of growth and transformation. Our approach goes deeper than most forms of treatment, diving under the surface of conscious awareness by gaining wisdom and insight from your innermost self.

You May Have Some Questions About Integrative Holistic Therapy

I’m not sure I’m comfortable with needles or working with the body.

Acupuncture needles are exceptionally thin and small—most patients say that they can barely feel them. Jonathan performs most of his procedures on the arms and legs, below the elbows and knees (on areas known as distal points in acupuncture). If you are okay with acupuncture being done on other parts of the body, then he can take a more expansive approach. In the end, we will only do what you feel comfortable with.

Is acupuncture really helpful?

Acupuncture is thousands of years old and contains a science in its own right. It’s hard to imagine how any form of medical treatment could last so long, and benefit so many people, if it wasn’t helpful. Although we don’t have time to delve into lengthy research here, there have been many studies on the efficacy of acupuncture and we have witnessed its positive effects on our clients’ lives.

What if I’m too busy to fit therapy into my schedule?

No matter how busy you are, it’s essential to set aside time for self-care in your life, even if it’s just once a week. What’s more, because we offer both acupuncture and therapy in our services, you have the chance to receive both physical and emotional care in the same session.
